Dragon

I decided I wanted to try to learn to draw Japanese style dragons, so here's my first attempt. I'll add more detail and colour when I get the time!

Productive Day in College...NOT!!!

Sat scribbling in college when I should have been taking notes. Ah well! Got a little of everything in there! Lol

Leap of Leopards

This is an assignment we were issued where we had to choose from a list of collective nouns, some real (flock of seagulls, school of fish etc.) and some made-up (a fraud of bankers, a boobage of cheerleaders...) and illustrate it. I chose the collective noun for leopards, which is a 'leap'. So here's my finished piece and some pics of the process and whatnot.

Animals

More sketches from the Natural History Museum: a greenland falcom, some sort of cougar thing, a deaths head hawk-moth, and a buff-failed bumble bee. Try saying those last two after a few jars!

Birds!

I managed to get to the Natural History Museum on Sunday but only had enough time to bang out a couple of drawings. Heading in tomorrow with my ickel ditter (little sister) and lovely Marianne for some more punishment, but here's a few birds for now.

Animal Illustrations

I have a friend who asked me to do a few animal illustrations for a childrens' book he's writing. These are some practice pictures, nothing great, but still fun.

Tiger Prawn a la Chuck Close

This is the most painstakingly long technique ever, but good fun and interesting results. Requires oodles of patience too.

Tiger Prawns, Anyone?

I'm in the middle of a project at the moment where I have to illustrate a recipe, instead of using photography like the norm. So I chose a recipe for Tiger Prawn Kebabs, here's some pictures I drew of tiger prawns, manky things that they are.

This is my brother's bearded dragon, Chapelizard. He's just so cute I had to stick em up!

Digital Koi

I stumbled upon (on www.stumbleupon.com) one of those sites that has some programme or other that allows you to make unique works of art. I came across one, can't remember what it was called, but did this. Can you tell I have a thing for kois?

This little guy was just lying on the floor, I think he got a bang off a newspaper or he was dehydrated. Either way, he made for some interesting photography.

Tortoises

Here's a few pictures of my tortoises, Toby, and our recently deceased, Shelly, who was dug up by a cat during her hibernation and sadly never recovered. Maybe I'll get one framed in her memory! They re done with a mixture of media, including ink, pencil, charcoal and oil bars.

Mice 1

This was a project we did where we had to choose an object (in my case, my pet mouse, Elvis, was my inspiration) and develop a series of illustrations in different styles of that object. Here's a selection of my pieces, and one of Elvis himself because he's such a legend.

Intaglio Koi

I carved this little guy out on the train one day. Anyone who regularly commutes in or out of Dublin knows how horrible those evening trains are; I was so glad to have this to keep me busy, and it turned out nice as a print.
